Personality: This boy is loud and proud in the pool, and even though the traits remain, he's a bit more sensible everywhere else. He's more likely to get along with someone if they're just as loud as him, being left feeling uncomfortable around quiet people. Very impatient, but also has him passionate and caring side, if someone needs help while he's in the mood, he'll gladly lend a hand to their expense.

History: Takiko was never interested in swimming until he and his family left to Mexico for vacation. While there, when visiting a lake, he had seen a salamander in the water, and he rushed to save it, thinking that it was drowning. He was quite young, and as he made his way to where he saw the animal, he could hear his mother yelling out to him from the shore. Not being able to make out what she was saying, he continued swimming until he reached the salamander. He dove and scooped it up, quickly surprised that the salamander had a finned tail and antennae-like things sticking from it's head. He swam back to where his family had been worrying about him, the salamander held closely to himself, and showed it to his father when arriving back to the lake shore. His mother was still worried, for the boy Takiko had swam so quickly through such a deep area, all to save a salamander that actually lived in water. He hadn't realized though, and swam fearlessly. His father patted him on the back, talking about how he and his brother should join the swim team some time.
Takiko thought about it as he grabbed a bucket, filled it with water, and plopped the salamander inside. He carried the creature around with him inside the bucket, and when a local saw what he kept, he explained with the creature was. This odd pink and white salamander was an Axolotl, which don't go through metamorphosis and keep their larval bodies their whole lives. Takiko looked down into his bucket after hearing about these odd things, to find that the axolotl was looking up at him as well, and even seemed to be smiling. Then and there, he decided that he would join his school's swim team, and keep this little creature as a swimming companion.
His brother was just as amazed by the axolotl as he was, and decided to join the swim team along with Takiko.
